We help children who've lost someone close to access opportunities for the future

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm taking part in the Run to Remember 2016 to help raise money for the PC Nicola Hughes Memorial Fund. Set up after the tragic events in Manchester in 2012 where two unarmed Police Officers were shot following a routine burglary call; the fund works to provide opportunities for the future of children who have lost a close family member through violent crimes. The fund provides grants & services to support learning and employment prospects.

I started running because I wanted to, in October 2015. Previously it was something I did because I had to . But my children inspired me to think about running differently. I've lost some weight since I joined a brilliant running club. Thanks to the team spirit & a wonderful coach I now love running  and need a challenge. As Deputy Chair of the Sussex Police Women's network - Evolve, it seemed fitting that my first challenge should be to help raise money in memory of an officer who paid the ultimate price serving her community.

Between 20th Feb and 29th May 2016 I will run 200 miles with a commitment to raise at least £1.00 / day. Your giving will inspire me even more
