Story
I really don't like heights or bridges so this will be a real challenge for me!
A cancer journey throws up all sorts of unwanted challenges for people affected by cancer and that is something my family really knows about. My husband has had prostate cancer, I have had breast and ovarian cancers and my amazing elder daughter is battling her 'Alien", as she has metatastic breast cancer. Charlotte is an inspiration to family and friends alike. Susannah my younger daughter also has the BRCA2 gene mutation.
As a Lead Volunteer for Durham Not Alone, a Macmillan service which gives emotional and practical support to people going through their cancer journey, I know just what a difference Macmillan can make to peoples' lives. My challenge in overcoming my fear of heights and bridges to cross the Tyne on the zip wire is worth it if it means Macmillan is able to support more people through the money that is raised. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
