Inspired by Gill, Aisha and Kurt’s recent half marathon efforts, I realised I wanted to run again and that I needed a goal to get me out training on cold dark mornings. Entering to run the Bath Half on March 1^st as part of Team Jackie was the obvious solution. Jackie, my sister’s close friend, lost her battle with Pancreatic Cancer in July 2012, as had the father one of my close friends around 10 years before. Team Jackie was formed by her husband David and it has already raised an incredible £170k to fund a 3-year research project into pancreatic cancer at The University of Manchester. The team is now looking to raise the next £150k, to support the currently under-funded research that will follow on from this existing project.
