I have been a part of Bay Search and Rescue for the last 3 years. We are a stand alone charity that depends on the donations and purchases from our 2 dedicated charity shops in Milnthorpe and Grange. 

Morecambe bay is the UKs biggest expanse of intertidal sands and mud flats. We help anyone who finds themselves in sticky situations in the bay, whether thats people, animals or vehicles stuck in the quicksand or water.

The team is DEFRA approved which means we could get called to any national situation. The team has been involved in many flood, fire and snow situations all over the UK. The range of emergency vehicles in the team means we are one of just a handful of teams that can attend pretty much any incident.

The team has been a great place for me to learn many new skills, meet fantastic people and to give back to the community. I have loved every minute of it so far!
