Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I cannot believe it's just over a week until the BIG day. BIGGEST challenge I've ever set myself.
For many years I've said to the team, I'd love to run the London Marathon, and they'd all fall about the floor laughing. Then they said, if you train and run a 10K, you can have a hospice bond place for London - so I did. I got off my bum, downloaded Couch to 5K and registered for the London 10K.
When I completed it and collected my medal I felt really proud of achieving something outside of work, it wasn't impossible and I thought I could stretch myself a bit further. A few weeks later I signed up for the Glasgow half marathon and I completed that. I was broken at the finish line, but I loved all the encouragement from the crowds in those final yards and I got that medal too.
So now I've got the last medal to collect - but before I do there's a few things I need to do, start running a bit further in training and fundraise - the most important bit.
I'm running the marathon to support the patients and families that The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice look after every year - this past year I have watched a ground breaking new service be discussed and launched, the only one of its kind in Scotland, supporting young adults as they transition into adult care and also providing short break stays for them here in Bellahouston Park.
I can do this run and fundraise for those patients and young adults and if you are able help me in any small way achieve those 2 things I'd be so grateful.
I really hope I've got enough energy at the end to pop on some lip gloss when I collect my medal. Big thank you to you all - I'll keep you updated with my progress over the coming weeks.
