We fund two clinics in Bhopal to help the survivors of the 1984 Disaster

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  This is my third consecutive Brighton Marathon and having raised money for cancer charities over the past two years, I have chosen the Bhopal Medical Appeal as my charity this year.

It is now 27 years since the horrendous gas leakage from the Union Carbide factory in Bhopal, yet the survivors of this disaster and their families are still suffering from both the effects of the gas leakage and the contaminated groundwater that has never been cleaned up.  The Bhopal Medical Appeal provides medical help for these people by funding a clinic and a rehabilitation centre in Bhopal.

My training as ever has been patchy, but I am trying to get the miles in whenever I can and have found it very helpful to be part of the University of Sussex Bhopal runners - it is always useful to share your stories of pain with fellow runners!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

The Bhopal Medical Appeal funds two clinics giving free treatment to survivors of the 1984 Bhopal Disaster (the World’s worst industrial disaster). It also treats thousands of people who are being slowly poisoned by drinking water contaminated with chemicals never cleared-up from the disaster site.
