We fund care, campaigning and research to achieve a world free from MND

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  As well as Research MNDA try to enable everyone with MND to receive the best care, achieve the highest quality of life possible and die with dignity.  They also do all that they can to support the families and carers of those with MND.

I first realised the terrible effects of MND when a dear friend John Carty (who I remember so well as a happy go lucky person) was diagnosed and died within months of getting this dreadful illness.  Recently I have become more aware when discovering that a hero of mine, Mark Maddox, who played for Altrincham FC contracted MND at the age of 38 but is bravely battling on as he always did on the football field.  My third encounter is through a great friend Lindy Jones who was diagnosed in 2010 and can now only communicate via her I-pad.  Lindy is fighting hard and has had the fortitude and determination to fulfill a lifetime ambition to write and have a book published, albeit about her illness.  The book "The Voice in My Head is Perfect" can be purchased at www.lindyjones.co.uk with all proceeds going to MNDA.
