The Challenge

In August this year, I will be cycling 1188 miles (1911 km) from Southampton to Rome over the course of 12 days. I will be undertaking this journey with the rest of the Inspired Living Team for Cancer Research UK. 

My Motive

Cancer is a terrible disease, which will affect most people at some stage in their lives. My Grandmother was diagnosed with cancer and sadly passed away during my childhood. 

The Ride

I will be cycling for 12 days across France and Italy completing an average daily distance of 99 miles (160 km). The ride will pass over the Alps before arriving in Rome. 

Before I signed up to this challenge, the longest bike ride I had complete was 30 miles! This trip will be a great personal challenge, being a novice cyclist it will require a considerable amount of determination and perseverance both in training and on the ride to Rome.
