Story
Jack, our dear father, was an amazing and wonderful gentleman. He had great energy, confidence and a gregarious approach to life. He greeted everyone with a warm and cheerful smile and always brought a good sense of humour to any gathering. He was hard working and dedicated to his family and his boundless energy served him well, he always looked much younger than his 91 years. He led a full and active life, until he was devastatingly taken by Covid-19 on 5th January 2021.
Our father was living with dementia and routine and structure became an important part of his daily life. Before the coronavirus pandemic, he enjoyed visiting the Regenerate-Rise Platt Centre in Putney most days where he would be greeted by warm, friendly and familiar faces. He would have a coffee while glancing at the newspaper and enjoy a tasty lunch. For this invaluable service to continue they are dependent on much needed charitable donations.
Regenerate-RISE is a local charity based at The Platt Cente in Felsham Road, Putney. It offers support services to the isolated elderly in SW15 and across the borough of Wandsworth. They are currently providing these services in the form of telephone calls, food supplies and lunches during the Covid-19 crisis to over 500 older people. They believe in celebrating life, fulfilling dreams and giving older people a reason to live.
