Here’s my story:

In 2018, I rapidly lost 20kg (1/4 of my body weight) in just a few months. I felt dreadful and had absolutely no clue what was wrong with me. After countless medical professionals prodding in and around my backside, I was eventually diagnosed with a disease called ulcerative colitis. I’d never heard of it, but google soon informed me it was incurable - brilliant!  

By 2019, I’d tried every drug under the sun, showed no improvement, and so had my large intestine chopped out - leaving me with a stoma bag. 

2020 was equally 💩: a second surgery was needed to sort out my stoma, making it permanent and removing my rectum for good measure. This left me with a so-called action man ass! 🍑 

People are often too embarrassed to seek help for bowel diseases. If I’d been diagnosed sooner, I may have found a drug to put this minger of a disease into remission. By doing this run and raising money for C&C UK, I’m hoping to contribute to greater public understanding of bowel diseases and maybe even help one or two people get their diagnosis in time to save themselves from a really 💩 time.
