Story
We are very pleased to be bringing Hastings' beloved festival Jack in the Green online so that we can come together to celebrate May Day. We are asking everybody to dress up and decorate their homes and gardens as they normally would, and then join us on zoom on Sunday 3rd May where we can all be together to see live Morris dancing, music, drumming, the slaying of the jack and footage from previous years' processions. As a finale we are inviting everybody to go their doorsteps, windows and balconies to bang their drums and offer a May Day applause for the NHS at 3.30pm. We will announce all details on our website and social media as soon as we can.
Over 100 people are working together to make this happen. We are a charity ourselves who have lost money due to our event nor taking place as usual. However, instead of trying to recoup lost revenue, we would like to take this opportunity to ask those who can to donate to the incredible staff and volunteers of the NHS.
The money raised will be split evenly between:
The Friends of Conquest Hospital, providing a variety of non-clinical services such as food and child care to staff and volunteers.

Hastings Supports Our NHS, providing Personal Protective Equipment, free volunteer taxis, hand creams and other items to NHS staff & Volunteers in Hastings and East Sussex

Every penny will go directly on goods and services.
