Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving Page.
With only 3 days left now to the big day ..the excitment and anticipation is building rapidly. We are delighted with the response and the support that we have been given along the way. The proceeds from the St Patrick's Night and the Table Top Sale has certainly boosted the total but if you haven't sponsored yet ...don't worry...there's still plenty of time.
Weather permitting - we are going to try and get all 9 jumps done on SATURDAY 27th MARCH - everyone is more than welcome to come along to the Bad Lippspringe Parachute Centre to support the very willing and maybe a little nervous now jumpers......................
We are trying to help raise additional funding for Jamie Inglis following the achievement of the original and quite staggering £250,000 target in order to save the life of this brave little boy. Jamie is four years old and is the son of a serving soldier with the British Army.
Jamie was diagnosed with an abdominal tumour in April of this year and after extensive tests Jamie was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma Stage 4, where it was found that it was MYCN amplified (Aggressive) and the cancer had infiltrated his bone marrow too. Even though Jamie has responded well to the initial treatment the chances of his cancer relapsing over the next year is very high. The relapse is normally caused by microscopic cells which have survived the chemo and it’s referred to as minimal residual disease (MRD). Unfortunately when the child relapses the prognosis is reduced significantly and the chance of a cure is very small. A recent antibody trial in the States has been very successful as it targets the MRD and improves the chances of survival by 20%. This treatment may well become a standard regime in the future, however, Jamie does not have time as he will require this treatment within 90 days of completing his high dose which he is due to complete by Feb 2010. Following a couple of glasses of wine at our first Charity Meeting - we suddenly moved from knitting blanket squares to jumping out of perfectly serviceable aircraft ....have you met Tricia ..well that explains it ...Each 'jumper' has an individual target of 500 euros therefore we desperately need your help right now...every pound counts and every donation is much appreciated. We are happy to accept as little or as much as you can afford.
