Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running the London Marathon on April 25th this year. As a rule, I don’t like asking for sponsorship but I can assure you, especially now that my training is well underway, that this is very much a one off. Although I am not a very experienced runner, the London Marathon is something that I have fancied taking on for a number of years and having recently turned fifty, I feel that it is now or never. I am aiming to raise £1,500 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), which is a charity close to my heart. Type 1 Diabetes is a chronic, life threatening condition that has a lifelong impact on those diagnosed and their families. Both my husband and one of my son’s has Type 1 diabetes and it would be wonderful if future generations of potential sufferers did not have to rely on multiple insulin injections everyday just to stay alive. Your sponsorship will be greatly appreciated.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
