Story
It's that time of year again when we start to get excited about all things festive... putting up the Christmas decorations, wrapping up presents, eating mince pies and of course me dressing up in a ridiculous comedy Christmas outfit!
For those of you who don't remember, last year I raised over £1,000 for 'The Make a Wish Foundation' by dressing up as Santa on my busy commute from Kent to London. I received lots of strange looks from my fellow commuters as I randomly rang my bell and broke into Christmas songs, I was even featured in the local paper!. Due to popular demand I am doing this again this year, dressed as one of Santa's little helpers!!!
This is going to be a lot of fun and hopefully will put a smile on people's faces but there is a really serious reason behind this.
I aim to raise as much money as possible for a small but hugely worthwhile project called FACE (Friends of Africa Child Education). FACE has been set up by group of friends from Kent who have decided they want to help children in Africa by raising enough money to build a school where young children can be kept safe, fed and given the chance of an education. We're raising the money so that MASICORP (www.masicorp.org) can build this school in Masiphumelele, near Cape Town in South Africa. Education is critical to improving the health and life expectancy of these poor children. In Masiphumelele many people live in shacks. HIV/ AIDS and other terrible diseases are rampant and most die young. Little children are left in appalling conditions and are nearly always very hungry. Education is their only route out of poverty.
So please dig deep and help me make a difference to these children's lives.
I will keep you all updated with lots of photos on Facebook.
Thank you and Merry Christmas
