Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This page is set up in honour of my mother - Joan Stevens.  Mum sadly passed away on 16th August 2011 at the grand old age of 83! She worked as a midwife in the local community of the Hoo Peninsular delivering some 250 babies, the old fashioned way, at home.  On retiring, she lived a full life, enjoying travelling, crosswords, tapestry - and a drink or two! Those of you who knew her will remember her best with a mixed Mart in one hand and a cigarette in the other.

She leaves behind 2 sons, 5 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed.

Seeing the effects of old age in the last couple of years of her life, especially those that live alone, I feel more help should be available to the elderly to help them maintain a sense of purpose and dignity.  So Kurt and I have decided Age UK will benefit most from your kind donations
