Story

It all started with a post during Covid saying "Ok so I have a plan??? Can't see much changing in the next three months, so I thought I would do something that gives people something to work towards & achieve a positive target....Interested??? It will keep you fit & raise money for charity??Still interested?? How about walking a marathon with me?? JJ's Allstars, raising much needed funds for St. Francis Hospice, our local Cancer Hospice.  I am going to plan a walking marathon for anyone interested......"

And in May 2021 over 50 individuals took up that challenge of walking either a full marathon or a half marathon and finally raising a fantastic total of £14,252.63 !!!!

So here we are again, some individuals who wish to take up the challenge again and some new faces signing up to the initial challenge, in supporting each other with physical and mental health wellbeing, and hopefully reaching another wonderful amount of money to support our local Cancer Hospice and our other chosen Charity, Orchid, supporting men with Cancer.

The main walk will be on Saturday 22 April 2023 starting at Everyone Active Noak Hill and then moving onto the nearby roads and country parks, walking through the Hospice and finally resting our weary feet at The Orange Tree Pub, Havering-atte-Bower.

Those taking part this year are Julia Judd, Darryl Judd, Joby, Matthew, Julie, Alex, Lorna, Robert, Sophie, Rosie, Jenny, Sandra, Lily, Sarah, Suzanne, Andrew, Maria, Janice, Danny, Victoria, Alison, Tanya, Lorraine, Helen, Peter, Prina, Justyna, Jyoti, Parmjit, Neelam, Rupa, Gita, Ditia, Priya, Amrit, Deepali, Lina, Siobhan, Mark and Sean.  We all have our reasons for supporting this worthy charity, whether it be because we have lost loved ones, know someone diagnosed with Cancer, or just wanting to support family or friends.

"After losing our beloved Pops to Cancer during the Covid pandemic, I wanted to help our local Hospice so they can continue to give the much needed guidance and support to other families going through what our family did.  It is not only the person with the diagnosis that suffers, it's those that watch them suffer too.  Pops received an amazing amount of care before he passed away, both from the Hospice and the NHS, so we now want to give something back." - Jules J from Gidea Park.

Please support us by giving whatever you can to help, any amount will be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks, JJ's Allstars
