Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
A little about myself and why Im doing this?
Well Im 39 and last May I finally decided to get to grips with my ever increasing weight, Im now 7st lighter (still have more to go though!), I have seen these kind of events many times before and as much as I longed to do one I just knew that at the weight I was and with how unfit I was (and still am lol) there was no way I could ever comit to one.
Fast forward to last December and I was merrily wallowing in the bath with my slimming world magazine and this challenge lept out at me - not only because it was trekking and not cycling (would rather have sore feet than sore nether regions ;-) - but also because the dates it covered included my mums birthday, mum had breast cancer a couple of years ago, but is now fighting fit , and also my sisters birthday -who we sadly lost to ovarian cancer... taking all that into account "how could I NOT do it?"
Im also seeing this challenge as about as good a reason for losing the rest of my weight as there could be, and also as a reward to myself, I lose the weight and get fit and in return I get to visit what looks like an amazing place with some amazing ladies ...and get an experience of a lifetime.
So here I am, I registered this morning, after spending the last few weeks loitering over the site waiting for this challenge to be added. Now its the task of getting the rest of my weight off, getting fit and coming up with ideas to raise the funds...
Thankyou so much for taking the time to visit my page... and wish me luck !!!!
9th February
Well -just a little up-date, I have now received my information pack and so "all systems are go" ...
I have been busily making "dangles" for mobile phones, purses etc, some earrings, book marks -all out of my leftover glass and crystal beads - I have made over 100 dangles now.... the plan is to approach the naafis to see if I can stand in their foyers 1 saturday and see if I can sell them -and of course take donations ;-). Now if they won't let me then I will wait until we do a carboot and have a seperate table for them. I did consider selling them on e-bay -but I think I would lose so much in fees etc.... so Im trying to think outside the box...
other than that I really need to start thinking BIGGER -but as we know "every little helps" lol
Once again -thankyou to everyone who has visited and a huge *mwahh* to those that have sponsored me....
