Story
Great Ormond Street transformed my 7 year old daughter Tilly's life!
As she grew, Tilly's progression out of nappies did not match other kids her age. She had problems with leaking wee that meant she had to wear (and change) incontinence pads every day and nappies at night. As she grew she became more self conscious, particularly at school, and the incontinence began to affect her life and confidence.
After pills, bladder training, and many hours of frustration and tears made no improvement our local hospital referred us to Great Ormond street Hospital (GOSH). Within an hour of our first appointment GOSH had diagnosed an extra bit of kidney that sent wee via pipes that bypassed her bladder. A few months later and Tilly was operated on to remove the extra kidney and pipework, immediately solving the leakage. As a family we hadn't realised the many small adaptations Tilly had coped with during her early life, and are thankful to GOSH for preventing this affecting her, both physically and mentally, through the various stages of her later life.
Whilst GOSH is known for world leading care of life threatening conditions it also resolves or supports many other conditions that have massive impact on peoples lives. If you, your family, or a friend have benefited from the care of Great Ormond Street Hospital and you can spare a pound or two, please consider a donation to GOSH to help them continue to change the lives of children and young people like Tilly.
(Also its only 6 weeks to the race and I've done little training so donating here will make sure i don't wimp out and ensure i feel some pain! Also if you do donate I promise not to bore you with running talk when i see you, if you don't donate then.... :-) )
