Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Autism is, and always has been a part of my life. It is a part of my family, therefore it is also a part of me. Autism is a word that is often misunderstood: It is defined as a lifelong developmental disability that
affects how people perceive the world and interact with others. But it’s so much more than that. Autistic people see, hear and feel the world differently to other people, and I have always found that this shows great creativity, passion and sensitivity in these individuals.
Autism is much more common than many people think. There are around 700,000 people on the autism spectrum in the UK – that’s more than 1 in 100! If you include their families, autism is a part of daily life for 2.8 million people. Autism is too often seen in a negative light due to stereotypes, stigma and lack of understanding. I want to change this view and prove that everyone should have the right to live their life without being judged and forced into a limiting category.
I believe that the National Autistic Society really supports autistic people and their families across the UK and work to change society for the better of those on the autism spectrum. It would mean so much to me and so many if you could support this charity and donate to this wonderful cause. Thank you all for your support.
