Story
Hi there,
You may have seen my target and thought "this guy's crazy". Well I suppose I am.
My family has had a number of battles with cancer over the years. However, thanks to research and the incredible NHS I am extremely grateful that I still have so many of them around me. But they haven't all made it.
In 2013 my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer, news that hit us all hard. She battled on through surgery, chemotherapy and finally radiotherapy and beat cancer. It was in May 2016 that she came home from work in tears to tell me that she had been diagnosed with endometrial cancer. It was then that this whole idea started. She has once again been given the all clear and beaten cancer and at present their are two other members of my family who are battling with the disease.
Honestly, I'm fed up with cancer to be quite frank.
I had a think about how I could help. I am not a Doctor so helping in that way is impossible. I can raise money though. If I raise a lot of money I can help fund new research into cancer and maybe help drive that research towards some sort of cure.
So... I intend to cycle, run and climb to raise £1 million for Cancer Research UK and prove to anyone who is battling cancer of any shape or form, that if you fight it and stay positive, you will beat cancer.
A lot of people have told me that £1 million is crazy, that it's unachievable. But I only need a million people to give £1. How hard can that be? It's definitely possible. But I know for a fact that fighting cancer is by no means easy.
Thank you for every donation, big or small! It means the world and I know it will help us on the road to finding a cure.
Thanks again,
Jed.
