Thank you so much for visiting my Justgiving Page. Many, many thanks to everyone who has donated already. And a huge thank you to everyone who came along to, or supported in some other way, my fundraising music night. It was a huge success and raised over £3000! I'm working at Strathcarron Hospice for a short spell - on a placement sponsored by The Vodafone World of Difference Scheme - to bring a 'Myriad of Music' to the patients through a number of initiatives. this is the link to my blog on the World of Difference website, which will keep you up to date with my project.

Music can be so therapeutic for people with life-limiting illness and I'm aiming to explore and facilitate as many ideas as possible. My first task was to raise enough money to buy MP3 players for the hospice, along with various accessories (such as docking stations and speakers) which enable patients to have their own 'personal playlists' to listen to at any time. I'm also helping to facilitate a system whereby music can be piped to the hospice's bathrooms (the first of which is in the process of being renovated and is almost ready for patient use). I'm also investigating a system that would allow for the 'broadcasting' of the live performances that I'm arranging for day care patients to the televisions in the wards. There's so much that could be done, but much will depend on how much money I raise during my placement.

My first fund-raiser was a wee music quiz sheet! Thank you SO much to everyone who entered or made a donation while the quiz was running. The winning entrant has now received her £50 Amazon voucher.

My next fundraising venture was an evening of live music, with a buffet, raffle and dance floor thrown in for good measure! 'Music from the Heart for Strathcarron' was held in The Golden Lion Hotel in Stirling on Friday the 18th of May and was a fantastic night.
