This year myself and four other members of The Parachute Regiment are competing in the Megavalanche. This is an international mountain bike marathon style event held annually in Alpe D'huez in the French Alps. Starting at the summit of Pic Blanc at 3300 metres, the race begins with a mass start of upto 500 riders. The course, initially on snow, heads down the steep rocky trails of the mountain, into the forest's below before eventually crossing the finish line some 35km later in the town of Allemont. This year marks the 21st Anniversary of this event that attracts some of the biggest names in World Championship mountain bike racing along with Sponsor's providing huge Media coverage.
