Story
Hello everyone and welcome to my page!
A couple of weeks ago my Dad asked me if I would like join him on a walk that trails alongside the Thames path - I absentmindedly agreed without thinking about the nitty-gritty details. It would now seem that this walk is actually the Thames Path Challenge.
So, on the 8th/9th September the willing members of Shedcasters (Davie McGirr, David Crowther and myself) will be walking 100k (62 miles), from Putney to Henley, in (hopefully) under 30 hours. The last time I attempted a long walk I was left crying on a rock after 17 miles before practically crawling the last mile to the B&B...while for my pride's sake I really hope that this doesn't happen again, it just goes to show that this will be a challenge and a half!
However, the decision to put ourselves through this pain, and perhaps through a rock-crying moment (stay tuned), was down to our desire to raise money for research into Alzheimer's disease. With Alzheimer's effecting our family, we wanted to make a small contribution in helping people to tackle this disease, and found that Alzheimer's Research UK was a great charity to support in order to do this.
Any sponsorship to help us tackle this disease, and this Thames path, would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Izzy
