1 in 4 people in the UK experience a form of Mental health issues. It is extremely sad that the statistic is so high! Unfortunately mental health services are underfunded and people are being left to suffer. Mental health is just as important to our well being as physical health yet they are treated so differently. Perhaps this is because people lack knowledge and awareness of the topic and how important it truly is! As people who experience mental health issues we want to raise awareness for this and have decided to do so by organising a charity Halloween event in our local town. Our idea is to bring people together by raising money and spreading awareness of mental health and the amazing charity Mind. We have been so lucky to have some amazing support already from local businesses who want to get involved in the cause and have donated fantastic prizes for our raffle. We have decided to do our event based on Michael Jackson’s Thriller as it fits the Halloween theme and dancing is a great form of exercise to contribute to positive well being. A group of us will be learning this dance and performing it on the night.
