Story
Irwin Mitchell's Southampton office have chosen Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance as our Charity of the Year 2017, with an overall fundraising target of £10,000, celebrate the charity's 10th anniversary this year.
We have already held a few exciting events within the office to kick-start our fundraising, including numerous bake sales and an office quiz, together with weekly dress down days. Our next challenge is the Southampton 10k, which 7 of our staff will be running on Sunday 23 April 2017... after all those cakes, it's not going to be easy!
Please show your support by donating as much or as little as you can. HIOWAA is a great cause, bringing advanced critical care to people in Hampshire & the Isle of Wight when they need it most.
Available both day and night, 365 days a year, the Air Ambulance critical care team is called out many times a day to attend to road traffic collisions, sporting accidents, collapses and many other incidents. Highly skilled crews of Doctors, Paramedics and Pilots can be at the scene of an incident within minutes, ready to deliver the same level of care that you would expect from a hospital emergency department.
It currently costs in excess of £9,000 a day to maintain their life saving service, and it is only thanks to the generosity of the communities that they serve that they are able keep the Air Ambulance flying and saving lives.
