Story
This summer I am going to be doing a trek to Rakaposhi Base Camp, part of the Karakoram mountain rage in northern Pakistan. Although I have been to Pakistan several times before I have never been to the beautiful, mountainous parts of the northern parts of the country.
This is also the first time I am doing a full on trek, so I am both excited and nervous! Thankfully I will be in the company of around 16 fabulous people from the UK, so it should be a very fun adventure.
I decided to do this trek for a charity that is doing some good work in the area where I will be travelling.
I am hoping to raise at least £1,000 for Dil Trust UK, which has established over 250 girls' schools in some of the poorest, most remote areas in Pakistan. The charity's aim is to provide quality, secular education, primarily free of cost. At its 123 schools, 66% of the students are girls.

Pakistan has the third highest out of school population in the world. Girls who complete primary education are less likely to get married before 18. Statistics also show that 21% of girls in Pakistan are married under the age of 18.
Please donate whatever you can. It will be greatly appreciated; everything you donate will go to the charity and you will be helping in the education of children - especially girls - in Pakistan.
In the meantime, from now until I fly out to Pakistan, I will be training for this trek and getting in the miles. I will keep everyone updated on my efforts.
