We are a group of bowlers from England and Scotland who meet up a couple of times each year to have a very sociable weekend raising a few quid for those less fortunate than ourselves. Over the years we have raised over £55000 for our chosen charities.

Ambitious About Autism has been chosen by Team England and will receive our support for the next 2 years. They are the only national charity specifically concerned with the education of children and young people with autism. Over 22 years we have founded ground breaking specialist education services in London: two schools and one college. We also work to improve opportunities for young people with autism in employment, support families, raise awareness, empower young people with autism to have their say, and campaign for national change. We exist to make the ordinary possible for children and young people with autism, and for them to have a fulfilling adulthood as active citizens in their community.

So why is this vitally important?

· There are around 100,000 children in the UK affected by autism

· 60% of teachers in England do not feel they have had adequate training to teach children with autism.

· Government statistics show that children with a statement of special educational needs are six times more likely to be excluded from school than children with no special educational needs.

· Only 16% of young people with autism find full time employment, even though 99% want to work.

· 90% remain dependent on care or their families for the rest of their lives

None of these facts are inevitable. Children and young people with autism can live happy and fulfilled lives when they are provided with adequate support. With the help of fantastic fundraisers Ambitious about Autism enables children and young people with autism to learn, thrive and achieve

Ambitious about Autism is the national charity for children and young people with autism. We provide services, raise awareness and understanding, and campaign for change. Through TreeHouse School, The Rise School and Ambitious College we offer specialist education and support.Our ambition is to make the ordinary possible for more children and young people with autism.
