Story
Anna passed away peacefully at home on 16th September 2016, with her family and fiancé by her side. It was the day before her wedding. Anna achieved her Justgiving target of £100k on the day of her funeral and we are determined to continue the incredible legacy she left behind. Anna achieved more in the 20 months she lived with her brain tumour than most of us can even dream about. If ever there was a person to take inspiration from it is Anna, and as her family we intend to keep doing that and to continue to raise money and awareness of this all too common and under-researched disease. You can read Anna's original post below or follow her full story on her blog page www.annaswabey.wordpress.com.
Hi I am Anna Louise Swabey, I am 24 years old and I have recently been diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour, a grade 3 anaplastic astrocytoma, given only a maximum of 3 years to live. I am determined to leave a mark on the world, and I am desperate to make a difference. I want to raise awareness of brain tumours themselves. Before I was diagnosed, I knew absolutely nothing about the illness. I want to raise as much money as possible for Brain Tumour Research Campaign, in the hope that this may help, not only my prognosis, but other people, and, so that in the future, other people do not have to experience this journey at all.I have the most amazing team of specialists trying to prolong my prognosis, and my surgeon is Chairman of the Brain Tumour Research Campaign, hence why this charity is so close to my heart.
My friends, family and I are arranging lots of separate fundraising events, however this page is a general donation page.
Any support that you can give during this difficult time would be absolutely amazing.... I really want to raise as much money as possible and make a positive out of this negative situation I find myself in.
Please help me achieve my goal......
