Story
It is with great sadness we write this to inform you of the passing of Roger Williams, Managing Director of Coinadrink Ltd, on Thursday 3rd March.
In December 2021, Roger, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of lung cancer that sadly proved not to be treatable, but we take peace in knowing that he did not suffer for too long and passed peacefully. He was a much-loved husband, father and grandfather who leaves a massive hole in many lives.
At his request we have kept his illness as private as possible. Being his usual proud self, he did not want people to be worried about him or to be fussing around him. To the very end he carried on working, which was his absolute passion. In his final week he insisted on writing the staff newsletter and even at the time of writing that he had the belief that he would be able to return to the office at least one more time.
He was so proud to see his beloved Coinadrink celebrate 60 years in business during February and it puts a tinge of sadness on the milestone, but we will ensure it is used to now celebrate his lifetimes work and achievements. His passion was his business, the people in it, the customers we served and the industry that we are a part of.
In the industry he was known worldwide and over his lifetime served in many different roles in the EVA and AVA as well as making regular trips to around the world learning about the latest trends in his beloved vending industry. It was his passion to learn and innovate that kept him so ahead of the times and made Coinadrink into the business it is today. He will be missed dearly by his family, friends as well as the Coinadrink family and the wider vending industry. He was a pillar of the industry, respected by all and a mentor to so many.
Coinadrink will never quite be the same without him, but we will endeavour to carry on his passion and take this company into the next 60 years with as much success as he had with the same values he held so dearly.
