Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Myself and a friend, Nick Marshall are avid Geocachers (see below). We are going to attempt to find 500 geocaches over 4 days in and around Chester, from September 12th to 15th 2019.
This will entail walking/biking for at least 10 hours each day...about 40 hours in total we think!
Typically, Geocaches are at least 200 metres apart...so a quick calculation: to find 500 will be about 100 km! Plus the bending and stretching and diving into hedges to find each one, like the cover photo! Plus the ones we do not find (DNFs)
Neither of us have attempted this before, so it will be a real challenge.
I would be really grateful if you could support us by donating, no matter how small an amount - anything will help.
Huh? What is Geocaching.
Geo = Geography, i.e. all over the world, Cache = from the French meaning hidden or a store. In short it's an Adult version of Hide and Seek, using a handheld SatNav (or Mobile phone) to locate hidden items, using a hint. "We use multi million dollar satellites to find Tupperware in trees!" We follow the arrow on the GPS to get close to where it is hidden...then have to search to find it, sign the logbook within and record the find online - to get a yellow smiley face.
