Story
Thank you so much for visiting my JustGiving page. I am running London Marathon 2019 for AGE UK as it looks after the well-being of millions of older people.
I am running for AGE UK because my parents live in India. I am not been able to serve or look after my parents as they were getting older and the times when they needed me more to be with them physically. This is the story of many immigrants who immigrate to a foreign country. Hence, by running for AGE UK will give me a chance to serve many older parents who often feel ignored and are living alone away from their children. I would also like to humbly request to all the sons and daughters out there to not to ignore their parents and look after them financially, physically or in whatever capacity they can to make their older parents happy and make them feel that you care for them.
I am lucky that my parents are still alive, and I would like to dedicate this run to my lovely parents and all the older parents out there. I really wanted to do this in their life time and I am very thankful to AGE UK for giving me this opportunity.
Most people will feel lonely at some point in their lives. It’s a deeply personal experience that - in most cases - will thankfully pass. But for the 1.9 million older people who often feel ignored or invisible loneliness can define their lives and have a significant impact on their well-being.
Donating to this page will help the national Age UK to continue providing vital services that offer companionship, advice and support for millions of older people facing later life alone.
I have never run a marathon before and I know it is not going to be easy but the cause that I am running for, will provide me the motivation to cross the finish line.
So, please please please dig deep and donate now, we all can make a difference to many lives. I would like to thank you all for your support.
