On 13th May, I am taking part in the Lake District 5 Peak Challenge where I’ll be venturing across 14 miles, tackling five of England’s most demanding peaks. I’m doing this in order to continue to raise the much needed funds for Aims2Cure.
Aims2Cure is a registered charity (established in 1999) and we’re constantly working hard to reach our £1million fundraising milestone. We continue to fund research into finding a cure for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and we currently sponsor various projects taking place in some of the UK’s leading neurological institutions. Additionally through the Michele Elster Fund, we help to improve the quality of life of people with MS.
MS sufferers are struck down in the prime of life, usually between the ages of 20 and 40 (although it can strike at any age). Just when individuals are embarking on the next stage of life, a career perhaps, or a family, they are faced with an uncertain and unpredictable future. MS is a cruel condition. Men and women who were once energetic, mobile and independent people lose all this to have a life solely reliant on others and being able to do nothing for themselves. It’s unimaginable. This is why Aims2Cure are so motivated to find a cure and further treatment.
My training has begun so if you see me out and about on the streets of North London, please give me a hoot.
With the above in mind, any donation is very much appreciated and will help me reach my goal in raising money for this amazing charity which is so very close to my heart.
