We fund research and raise awareness to create a world free from meningitis

Story

Thank you for visiting my page.

I am a second year student at the University of Kent and I am currently studying politics and international relations.

I know this is a tall order, but:

In July 2013 I will treck to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in order to raise money for meningitis research foundation. I doing this massive challenge the following of reasons:

1) The Meningitis Research Foundation is a registered charity that fights death and disability from meningitis and associated infections by funding vital scientific research.
The charity currently funds 17 research projects, leading to many advances in the prevention, detection and treatment of meningitis and septicaemia. By raising money, they can continue to do their great work and hopefully find a cure for this terrible disease.

2) I took up this challenge because before my mum suffered from cancer it was her ambition to climb mount Kilimanjaro. Although she is thankfully better, she can no longer do the trip herself. By going on this trip I will achieve this goal for her, which would be great for our family.

Any donation you give, whether it is small or large is greatly appreciated and will help me reach my goal. You can donate through this website, its quick, secure and your donation will go directly to the charity.

Thank you for your time,

Iestyn

Meningitis is deadly; killing and seriously disabling in hours. Small children and young adults are high risk, but all ages can be affected. Globally 1,000 people die daily. We fundraise to invest in research, campaign for vaccines, provide symptom information and support those already affected.
