Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Around 40 IPS swimmers will take to the pool on October 13 2021 to attempt to swim the length of the English Channel three times in three hours. This is a grand total of 99km, which would be an incredible feat if they manage it.
They will swim in rotation, for 3 hours, and their cumulative distances covered will be counted. They will need to swim very hard during their set time periods, in order to complete the challenge.
We are so proud of the pupils for accepting this challenge, and they would be so grateful if you could spare a donation to this wonderful cause.
Paula Craig MBE, who is living with a complete spinal cord injury and is an ambassador to Aspire, is currently awaiting a weather window to complete a real life Relay Channel Swim (as is Miss Middleton-Smith!), and she will be speaking to the swimmers about how Aspire helped her during her early recovery. We hope that this will be an inspiring event for the pupils to participate in.
Aspire help people who have sustained complete spinal cord injuries, to live independent lives, through a variety of ways, and as we are all immensely grateful for our ability to swim, run, walk, and go about our daily business, we believe this is such an important cause to support.
