***Fundraising update-
Sunday 25th March - a very successful Sunday Teas at the Levenwick Hall raised another £220! An amazing spread of treats and pieces enticed a passing trade, and the sun even managed to burn off the lingering mist!
Wednesday 21st March - a fantastic night at the Gurkha Kitchen for our charity curry night. The staff did an amazing job, and the food was outstanding. A full curry house of 60 folk ensured we took in another £370 for Shelter!
Satruday 25th February - a staggering £514.20 raised at the Sandwick Squad Up Helly Aa dance raffle - thank you to everyone to bought tickets and donated to this great cause. ***
There are so many charities out there who do such rewarding work, it was a job to choose one. Of course, I had to apply to the charities to allow me to raise money for them, they were not knocking on my door! However, I feel raising money for the homeless is a blanket fundraiser for so many other groups. Children, the elderly, those suffering debilitating illness or domestic abuse will all reap the benefits of the work undertaken by the homeless charity Shelter.
Completion (fingers crossed) of a marathon has always been an ambition of mine, and so in some way raising money for charity masks the slightly selfish aspect of this. However, it is a case of 2 birds with 1 stone - I get to tick the marathon 'box', whilst raising both cash and the profile of an excellent charity organisation. I hope you can help me in my quest!
