Story
My name is Ian Wood. I am 36 a visually impaired wheelchair user suffering from Mitochondrial disease.
I am doing a bungee Jump from Manchester Keys on the 11th July. 160 foot up.
I am raising money for Children in Need, Mitochondrial Research at Newcastle University and Disability Snow Sports.
Mitochondrial disease results from the failure of mitochondria, specialised compartments present in every cell of the body except red blood cells. The symptoms of mitochondrial disease vary but can be devastating. The Wellcome Trust Centre for Mitochondrial Research at Newcastle University is an internationally recognised centre of excellence and is working to develop techniques for the prevention and treatment of mitochondrial disease.
DSUk is Disability Snowsports! This charity enables disabled people to go skiing. Whatever your disability!
I am going to aim to raise at least £1000 for each charity!
