Story
I’m putting myself through an extremely difficult, extremely gruelling challenge for a great cause.
This forms part of my challenge to cycle approximately 700 miles in 7 days, taking part in no less than 2 charitable cycling challenges – Ride the North and the Highland 500, back to back.
Through this page, I will be raising money for Maggies Aberdeen for my Ride The North Challenge.
It’s a tough two day, 175 mile cycle challenge from Rhynie to Inverness and back again, amidst a breathtaking backdrop of the Grampian Highlands in the North of Scotland on the 27th and 28th August. My ride will total a climb of around 6000 feet – the equivalent of cycling up Ben Nevis. And then cycling up half way, all over again.
This challenge is not going to be easy. But extremely worthwhile, in raising money for Maggies, helping them to do their truly wonderful work.
Maggie's Centres are unique places. They’re there for anyone with any type of cancer and their families and friends. They offer the practical, emotional and social support for anyone that’s affected by cancer. Their support specialists, benefits advisors, nutritionists, therapists and psychologists are brilliant people offering the sort of support needed by those at a time that’s absolutely vital.
These amazing individuals are an inspiration. And they’ve inspired me to do this challenge. A challenge that’s demanding, but worthwhile. If you could make whatever donation you can to help in this endeavour, it would be greatly appreciated, by me and by Maggies.
Thank you for your support.
