*** UPDATE 16 May *** Made it home in one piece - 450 miles cycled in total. Cape Wrath proved elusive in the end, but it was down to the high winds which prevented the tiny ferry from running so outside my control. Got to a point just 10 miles away though, from where the lighthouse was visible. I've uploaded a few photos onto this page. Thanks again for sponsoring me, and big thanks to Ronnie and Ben for providing excellent company on two separate phases of the trip, which helped make it an experience to remember...

*** UPDATE 1 May *** Thanks to the generosity of all my sponsors, which has exceeded all expectations and taken the total well over my original £700 target, I've decided to increase it to a round £1k - let's see if we can get there...

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, Wheels across the West.
Over 11 days in May, I'm cycling the length of Scotland's west coast: about 400 miles from Mull of Galloway in the south to Cape Wrath in the north.
To make this a worthwhile challenge, I'm riding in support of Practical Action.
The simplest ideas can have he most profound effect on poor people across the world. For over 40 years, Practical Action has been working closely with some of the world's poorest people using simple technology to fight poverty and transform their lives for the better. By sponsoring me, you'll be making a valuable contribution to this life-changing work.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Not only that, but my employer will contribute up to £300, provided I can raise double that through other means. So if I reach my sponsorship target of £700, it will translate to over £1000 in total. So every £1 you can sponsor me would turn into £1.50, or more if you are eligible for Gift Aid.
Many thanks!
Ian
