Story
In October of this year (2017), as part of a team of 50 men and women, I'll be taking on the biggest physical and mental challenge of my life to date and climbing the world's highest free standing mountain - Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa.
Up until signing up, I’d never even climbed a big hill, never mind a mountain, however I’ve been wanting to get involved in one of SPF’s challenge’s for a number of years and now the timing is right.
I had the pleasure of meeting Steve Prescott on a few occasions whilst supporting my brother Neil who has taken part in a number of SPF’s challenges over the past decade and he was such a down to earth, humble guy with a massive heart.
So to be doing this challenge in his memory for the SPF is a huge honour and i will do whatever it takes to prepare for an conquer Kilimanjaro.
Whilst on top the team will also set out to create a new Guinness world record for the highest game of football every played.
The 90 minute game will take place in the crater of Kilimanjaro at 5750m above sea level. And as it happens I used to be a cracking goalie at school ;)
It would mean the world to me if you could donate what you can and help me reach my target of raising £5,000 for the Steve Prescott Foundation.
I’ll be keeping you updated on my training throughout the coming months.
