Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am doing this challenge to support my brother and sister in law, when they had their last child in 2022. In March it became apparent their daughter was growing slower than her gestational age. They were referred to Liverpool Women’s and were told to prepare themselves for the worst.

Over the course of the next few months they visited Liverpool Women’s Hospital at least twice per week.  The staff were nothing short of amazing, treating them like friends and family with the utmost dignity and respect - making a scary journey bearable.

The story has a happy ending and Ibbie was born by emergency C-section.

The hospital continued to provide amazing care. Ibbie was born unable to regulate her temperature and was moved quickly to Neonatal Intensive Care. NICU became home for the next five weeks as Ibbie battled for life.

During that difficult period the hospital staff cared for the whole family.  Providing accommodation above NICU for the whole family. This was a sanctuary that provided a way for the family to be together in the most difficult of times.

Please give whatever you can so that families with stories like them can continue to benefit from the amazing service of the only hospital of its kind in Europe.  A hospital that treats and supports families from all over the UK needs to be protected like the national treasure it is!

About the charity

The aim of Liverpool Women's Charity is to raise funds to improve the care and support given to the patients and their families. Money raised helps to provide services and facilities above what is normally provided through NHS funding.
