Story
Some of you will know that I started trying to get fit back in 2013 to participate in the 'Tough Mudder' event. In doing so, a group of us raised money for the Myotubular Trust; Myotubular Myopathy (MM) is a rare and devastating muscle disease that affects little boys. My friend Mike has a son Milosz who suffers from this awful disease. Many of the boys affected don't live longer than 10years of age.
Earlier this year, the same group of us entered a local half marathon, raising money for the charity Delete Blood Cancer UK.
Moving on, I thought it was now or never for me to attempt 'The Big One!'; the Virgin London Marathon 2015!! I have secured my Gold Bond place and will be running for the Children's Charity SPARKS. The Myotubular Trust are a small charity and are not able to allocate their own places however MM is one of the childhood diseases that SPARKS fund research into, hence one of the main reasons for me choosing them.
My training this Summer has taken a huge setback as I have had months away from running with a poorly Big Toe! However, I am going to do everything that I can within my power to be fighting fight for the challenge and do myself and more importantly, the charity proud.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I am grateful for any donations, no matter how small. Thank you, Ian :)
