Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
You may have noticed recently, I have been seen walking round like an egg whisk and may also have looked a little more tired than usual. The reason for this is I have been furiously training in preparation for a marathon cycling challenge!
I'm attempting the England Leg of the 2013 Deloitte Ride Across Britain, which involves cycling from Carlisle to Land's End over 5 consecutive days and covering at total of approx 535 miles. Each evening we'll be stopping overnight to try and catch 40 winks under canvas at various race courses along the route. I'm undertaking this challenge with two close friends, Steve & Andy along with about 1000 other riders in the event.

I'm taking part in this challenge to raise money for Parkinson's UK.
I'm sure you will have heard of Parkinson's Disease and Parkinson's UK which is the main associated charity. They provide invaluable funding of Parkinson's Nurse's who provide direct support to people with the condition along with their families and undertake research into treatment and cure for the disease.
WHY?
The reason I'm raising money for Parkinson's is my Dad was diagnosed with the condition 6 years ago. The way he has dealt with the cruel life changing symtoms this horrible disease inflicts, without complaining, showing great dignity and (mostly) with the same cheeky smile on his face he's always had, has been truely inspiring.
So the WHY is simple:
I would just like to raise some money to help people like my Dad!
