I am raising money for both Quarriers Discovery Group and the V.I.P. Group.

The Quarriers Discovery Group is a Collective Advocacy Group for adults with a disability.

The Quarriers Voices In Projects (V.I.P.) Group is a Collective Advocacy Group for Young People who are affected by Homelessness.

Both these groups have been around for a number of years and during that time have raised awareness about people's rights.

Through promoting positive stories both groups have shown what amazing things can achieved when people are encouraged, supported and given the right kind of opportunities.

I hope to be able to convince you to make a difference and contribute a donation as I tell you more about both these groups when I update my progress towards the challenge.

BUT, for now the summer holidays are well and truly over. The Sangria, sun and steaks are just a memory.

I have just woken to the realisation that in May/June I promised myself to run 3 x 10ks over the Summer/Autumn to raise money for Quarriers.

Of course I did this when I was relatively slimmer, fitter and certainly not of the dimensions of the guy who ate ALL the pies and came back to ask if there were any 'mair' chips left or another bit of that cake?

Last Thursday I did my first run in a month and it was tough. I was on the cycle path and each time I wanted to stop and get my breath some dog walker, fellow runner or cyclist would appear.

So smiling grimly at each person I managed to keep up the pace if not my dignity as I huffed and puffed the last 1.5 miles.
