Story

HB@D - Riding Hand Bikes UP Cader Idris

On 20th April 2013 a group of disabled cyclists will attempt to ride up Cadair Idris, the most iconic mountain in Southern Snowdonia. They will be riding specialist hand cycles designed for riding on rough terrain, powered by hand cranks rather than pedals. These bikes have especially low gearing which will be essential on the steep and stoney track on the mountain. I am part of the support team accompanying the hand-bikers on their 10 hour epic journey on the mountain.

The challenge will help to raise the profile of Adaptive Mountain Biking in the UK, and demonstrate the value of making outdoor activities accessible to all. By your kind donations it will also raise funds for a number of associated projects and charities.

Your donations will be split between four organisations:

Mawddach Rotary Club (10%)

Challenge Your Boundaries adaptive MTB project (30%)

Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team (30%)

Walking With The Wounded, a project assisting injured service personnel (30%)

This ambitious event is being organised by Challenge Your Boundaries.

Further details of the event can be found on the Hand Bikes at Dawn Justgiving Team Page , and on Facebook

Thank you for looking at my Justgiving page. I hope that you feel able to make a donation in support of out adventure, but even if you are unable to, your support is very valuable to us.

Helping the disabled back into the outdoors not only improves thier quality of life, it also shows everyone else what they can achieve. This event will raise funds for charities to aid them in this goal, while at the same time breaking down boundaries, which is something I feel to be very worthwhile.
