Story
On the 18th March 2023, our world was ripped apart as our beautiful and brave little boy, Ethan, aged 2 and half, passed away in his Mummy and Daddy’s arms having been taken ill just 72 hours earlier.
Ethan, was initially taken to Frimley Park Hospital, but was shortly transferred in an ambulance dedicated to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, to Southampton University hospital, where he was placed under the 24-hour supervision of the amazing team within the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit in Southampton is the lead centre in South Central England. The unit, which looks after 950 to 1,000 patients per year from across southern and central England, is the sixth largest PICU in the UK by number of admissions, with children referred to them from hospitals as far afield as Plymouth, Milton Keynes and the Channel Islands.
Whilst the pain of losing Ethan will never go away, I am focusing on doing something positive for the ward by fundraising for the Friends of PICU charity.
On the 9th September, I will be taking on the Thames Path Challenge, to complete 100km between Putney to Henley in 24 hours. My sister is also joining me to help raise as much awareness for this cause as possible.
Any donations would be gratefully received and please share this page to help us reach our target.
