We work with artists & communities to to make arts projects happen in Scotland

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Over the last two years we've supported brilliant shows to be made and reach young people, young people with complex needs, and communities across Scotland and beyond.

2020 was to be our year we really stepped things up with shows touring the length and breadth of Scotland plus Ireland, England, Japan, Sweden, and Denmark as well genuinely exciting new shows which were due for development or premiere this year. It has all fallen away.

Our aim now is to keep going. We want to help artists and freelance arts workers sustain their careers and begin to reimagine what performance projects will look like post-lockdown. We're not asking them to do huge amounts of work for small amounts of money but we'd like to contribute towards the huge amounts of unpaid labour that goes into thinking, dreaming and exploring new performances and arts projects.

It's a big ask just to ask people to carry on right now - when they don't know when their next job will happen. Theatres are closing - some will never reopen. Our infrastructure as a sector is falling away.

We want to support the artists and arts workers we work with to survive this time and start to think about tomorrow.

The arts might not seem like the first priority right now but look at the waves of creativity rising through lockdown - our young people, the vulnerable and ever-more isolated need our support - the people our artists engage with the very best work they can make. They have a right to creative experiences and we should all have the opportunity to bounce back from this - coming together again to laugh, cry and to explore how we have all been affected by this and how we will begin to understand our world now and in the future.

We're applying for funds but there is huge competition and no guarantee that we'll be supported.

If you can support with a small donation, a like or share of this page - it would be hugely appreciated.
