Hi All, thanks for visiting my JustGiving page. As some of you may know, at the beginning of the year our family had a bit of a shock as my father, Trevor, was admitted to hospital with worsening symptoms from advancing Prostate cancer. After some extensive surgery and a two month stay in hospital he is Thankfully making a good recovery and continues to make progress.
During this time we have received excellent treatment and care from the NHS and various charities input has been very helpful.
For this reason I have decided to try to raise some money for charity by running the Cardiff Half Marathon in October. If you know me you will be aware that I haven’t exactly got the ideal shape for a runner and at the beginning of last year was weighing in at over 20st!! Since then I have been running and improving my general fitness and hope to complete the race in under 2 hrs
Whilst there are many worthy charities, I have chosen to support Prostate Cymru.
Prostate Cymru is the leading prostate charity in Wales and works to raise awareness of prostate cancer. 1 in 8 men in Wales are affected by prostate cancer and the important work they do in raising awareness can help early diagnosis and timely treatment. They also support cutting edge treatments and equipment improvements whilst also funding research and innovation to ensure men in Wales have access to the best treatment available.
I would be so grateful if you could spare a few £’s to support a worthy cause and help me along on my journey to completing my first Half Marathon
Thanks Huw
