Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Guy Flintoft (Director here) and I are both signed up to the event: I am cycling in the London to Ebbsfleet leg (Thursday 08 September 2011 @ 31 miles) and Guy is joining me to cycle in the Ebbsfleet to Cambridge leg (Friday 09 September @ 71 miles). Guy and I are also competing in the Reading Triathlon on Sunday 11 September – so we’ll need all the support we can get!
04/09 Update: still have man-flu!
So training curtailed - and excuses growing...
Still have 101 other excuses up my sleeve or in my (heavily strained) ankle support (that is excuse no. 28!)
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please ignore my excuses and dig deep and donate now.
I did survive cycling out of London to our Ebbsfleet office last Thursday (31 miles) - (it turned out that our driveway is more hazardous than London, but more of that later).
Early start on Friday for Ebbsfleet to Cambridge (73 miles), Tilbury ferry, light rain, but no wind.
Incident free, apart from chipping a tooth on a piece of homemade flapjack (not Helen's) on the train journey back, plus cold sore due to head winds (at least that's what I'm telling Helen).
I did also see a sign for a "Brazilian blow dry" for "only £17.95" along the route in south Essex somewhere - I don't know what this says about Essex, or me for that matter, as I didn't stop!
Triathlon swim on Sunday, plus Russell completing the bike leg in a very respectable time (and in one piece) despite the weather and many other casualties en route.
So that's it.
Oh, hang on a minute, I almost forgot about the driveway incident:
Please see video link opposite.
Many thanks.
