Story
On 27th May, I am doing the Dorney Lake triathlon along with my friends Chris, Tom and Andy. We are doing it to raise money for Brain Tumour Research in memory of our friend Pat Ebbutt who died in October after a five year illness.
Pat was a truly special person and many of you will have heard me talking about him. For those that didn't know him, his obituary gives a wonderful picture of who he was. We all really miss him.
The triathlon involves a 1500m swim, a 40km cycle and a 10k run. Those of you who know me will know that in many ways, I'm not a born swimmer and that to date, my greatest swimming achievement was taking 18 months to learn to swim 10m aged 9 so this is quite a challenge. We've all put in a lot of training in the hope that the more people see us suffer, the more they will enjoy it and the more money they will give.
Obviously the money we raise is the most important thing and any donation that you can give will be truly appreciated as it goes towards getting to the day when other people won't have to lose their friends too early as we have.
Love,
Hugh
