Story

Having decided some time ago to enjoy the Dales Way eighty mile walk from Ilkley to lake Windermere over seven days in June in celebration of the end of the ‘lockdown’, we have decided to also use it as a way of raising funds for Disasters Emergency Committee’s appeal for the corona virus crisis in India.

Although our experience of Covid 19 in the UK has been tragic the experience of much poorer countries, often without a national health system, is much worse and for everybody’s sake we want to be able to respond in some way to the present crisis.  DEC has a long track record of responding to crises and is made up of a number of the major charities including Oxfam, Islamic Relief and the Red Cross.

Any support in achieving and even exceeding our target will be much appreciated
